Santander drives the development of new technologies and the digitalisation of teaching processes. Some of the services on offer in the apps being developed include information on training programmes, grant applications, job vacancies, discounts, news, etc.
Some of the priority projects include CRUE App, the virtual campuses and the digital Student Smart Card.
Santander is developing with universities the University Smart Card, which takes advantage of the latest chip technology to adapt its functions to the specific needs of around 252 University communities to whom it is issued.
More than 9,1 million university students are currently using this university card in collaboration with more than 279 universities in 11 countries.
Santander Universities Digital Spaces have been installed. These are modern computing laboratories which have been installed in the bank's partner universities to improve access to the digital world and to spread the use of new technologies among the teachers, students and staff of academic institutions.
It is also worth highlighting the digitalisation of university digital archives and support for virtual libraries such as Cervantes Virtual, which offers free access to more than 550 portals and 200,000 bibliographic records, and the BDUIMP, virtual library with more than 1,600 documents belonging to the UIMP.
