In order to address the situation in which many families in Spain find themselves, in 2015 Santander continued its Carencia tres años (‘Three years grace’) initiative, launched in 2011. It offers customers a moratorium on mortgage capital payments on their primary conditions, allowing the period to be extended for families who have seen a reduction in their income or in which one family member is unemployed. Since the start of the campaign, a total of 19,020 operations have been formalised for a total amount of 2,802 million euros of investment.
