Second Scholarship Day: A symbol of international partnership (Disponible solo en inglés)

Mönchengladbach, 26th May 2015-. About 100 scholarship students supported by Santander Universities, among them students of the National University of Singapore sponsored by Santander Universities Asia and scholarship students of the German University Foundation (Deutsche Hochschulstiftung), met for the “2nd Santander Scholarship Day” in Frankfurt.

In addition to the exchange of international experience, the focus was to answer on questions of career management and personal development during four workshops.

Pedro de Elejabeitia, board member of Santander Consumer Bank, and Udo Schweers, Director Santander Universities Germany, opened the meeting. They also welcomed Prof. Dr. Bernd Helmig,  Vice President of the “German Association of University Professors and Lecturers Confederation” (Deutscher Hochschulverband – DHV) at Goethe-University,  Frankfurt/Main.

“Our philosophy is not only to support financially, but also to keep an eye on the professional and private development of our students”, explained Pedro de Elejabeitia. “Our scholarship students are part of a worldwide network, which connects students and young scientists all over the world. Therefore it’s our aim to make that big international network attractive and interesting for all.”

In the context of social engagement Santander maintains meanwhile worldwide partnerships with more than 1,200 universities and research centres. Santander Germany, through Santander Universities, maintains cooperations with Humboldt University of Berlin,  University of Bremen as well as University of Cologne, Goethe-University Frankfurt,  University of Göttingen, University of Heidelberg, University of Münster, Hochschule Niederrhein, University of the Saarland  and University of Tübingen.
