R. Martín Chávez Márquez

Nationality: American. Born in 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico (U.S.A.). 

Education: A.B. magna cum laude in Biochemical Sciences and Master of Science (S.M.) in Computer Science from Harvard University and Ph.D. in Medical Information Sciences from Stanford University.

Experience: He was CTO and co-founder of Quorum Software Systems (1989-1993), global head of energy derivatives at Credit Suisse Financial Products (1997-2000) and CEO and co-founder of Kiodex (2000-2004). In 2005 he joined Goldman Sachs, where he was a partner from 2006 to 2019 and where he held various executive positions and responsibilities, including global co-head of the securities division, CIO and CFO. He was also member of the management committee from 2012 until he left the firm. Furthermore, he has been director of PNM Resources, Inc., of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), of The Santa Fe Opera, of Mount Sinai Genomics, Inc. DBA Sema4 and of Paige.AI, Inc., as well as member of the Harvard University Board of Overseers and member of the board of trustees of amfAR (the Foundation for AIDS Research) and of the Institute for Advanced Study of Princeton (New Jersey).

Other positions of note: He is senior executive vice-president of Sixth Street Partners Management Company, L.P. and non-executive chair of Recursion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He is also member of the board of trustees of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and member of the Stanford University School of Medicine Board of Fellows. Likewise,  he is a senior advisor of Cambrian Biopharma, Earli, Block.one, Ketch Kloud and Abacus.AI.
