Banco Santander has been supporting education, employment and entrepreneurship for almost 30 years. These pillars enable us to help people and businesses prosper beyond our traditional model and set us apart from other financial institutions.

We have invested over 2.4 billion euros in partnership with more than 1,100 universities and organizations and supported over 3.7 million people and businesses.

In 2024 alone, we invested some 104 million euros in promoting education, employability and entrepreneurship and helped 2.2 million people and businesses. Moreover, we have committed to invest an extra 400 million euros in these three areas between 2023 and 2026

We work with universities and institutions on initiatives that enable them to tackle new challenges and strengthen the academic community through resources and opportunities for development and digitalization.

These initiatives include study grants and scholarships, academic mobility and research positions, as well as lifelong learning to acquire and update skills that bring about more job opportunities. We also support businesses and entrepreneurs with a comprehensive value proposition that includes training programmes, online courses, benefits, discounts, competitions and awards.

Three vital pillars for a prosperous society:

When society invests in education, it grows sustainably, is more open and diverse, creates opportunity for everyone, and can tackle the conflicts and challenges of the future.

Ana Botín, Banco Santander Executive Chair
