Whether you’re a student, worker or don’t have any qualifications or work experience, Santander Open Academy offers a wide range of free courses, content and scholarships for you to build up your career prospects. You don’t have to be a Santander customer or hold a degree to get access.
We offer a wide range of educational programmes to meet people’s employability needs, with grants for universities, other studies, course-related travel, and research, plus free, admissions-based or open enrolment courses, as well as learning content.
Santander has been a stalwart of education, employability and entrepreneurship for 30 years, investing over 2.5 billion euros and helping over 8.3 million people and businesses through partnership agreements with over 1,000 universities and academic institutions.
We appearing for the third year running in Fortune magazine’s “Change the World” list as a company that has a positive social impact through activities that form part of our business strategy. It’s the third year in a row that Fortune has named the bank on this list, thanks to our support for education, employability and entrepreneurship through global initiatives like this year’s stand-out proposition, Santander Open Academy.

It has details of each programme’s modules, application deadlines and selection process. What’s more, our direct access programmes include courses on languages, technological tools, data, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, soft skills, and health and well-being. We provide scholarships and grants for people to access and complete higher education studies, undertake course-related travel, and carry out research.

If you want to learn Spanish and speak it from day one, apply for one of 1,000 places on the Santander Course | Español Online 2026.
Learn with an immersive and interactive methodology, but at home and at your own pace.
Together with the British Council, we’re offering 500 free places on a 13-week online preparation course for IELTS Academic.
In addition, the top 100 students will receive one exam attempt for free. Applicants don’t need to hold a university degree or be a Santander customer.
Delivered by Harvard Business Impact, it offers 5,000 places on a nine-week, fully online course.
You can choose between Business Fundamentals or Personal Management, available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Direct Access
Digital formats offer a fresh approach to storytelling, yet the core of impactful storytelling remains rooted in traditional myths and timeless narratives.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion.
This course will take you from beginner level to a solid understanding of the basics of Python.
