Helping people prosper also means helping them acquire and update skills through lifelong learning, which businesses and society are demanding to respond to current and future challenges. We also help young people secure their first job.

Through global initiatives like Santander Open Academy, Universia and Fundación Universia, we provide alternatives for people to develop skills according to their interests and needs, regardless of their level of education. Our proposition includes free digital content, courses and resources for people who want to broaden their horizons, stay up to date, or take their career to the next level.

Santander Open Academy is a global learning and development platform that provides access to education for everyone to enhance skills and bolster employability.

We’ve expanded and enhanced our free-of-charge programmes to boast over 1,000 courses that we have developed in partnership with leading institutions and companies and that we update according to the job market’s most in-demand skills.

Santander Open Academy is open to everyone and offers free access to resources that boost the skills that employers seek most. It provides global training programmes across 13 countries, where our subsidiaries also run specific initiatives tailored to the needs of their local communities.

Universia is an open and free digital platform that enables students and recent graduates to boost their careers by providing access to job and internship opportunities in Latin America, Spain, and Portugal, as well as job fairs, employment portals, competitions, and events.

Moreover, it’s one of the world’s largest university networks and a global space for collaboration, cooperation and joint reflection among institutions within the Ibero-American Higher Education Area.

Its mission is to enhance knowledge and access to better job opportunities for students, universities and companies by providing the necessary resources and information for professional development.

Fundación Universia promotes improvement in the quality of life for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, enhancing their autonomy, economic well-being, and social inclusion in educational and workplace environments.

It is an international benchmark in inclusive culture and participates in global forums led by the United Nations and the International Labour Organization.

It fosters continuous, digital and global learning by offering training programmes, scholarships, internships, employment opportunities and mentoring to unlock the potential of the job market for people with disabilities and those at risk of vulnerability.
