Santander X Global Challenge | Reimagine Silver Age seeks innovative solutions to redefine ageing and promote a healthier, active and independent later life.

Santander announced the winning startups and scaleups of Santander X Global Challenge | Reimagine Silver Age at an event held at the Philips headquarters in Amsterdam. The aim of this challenge, run by Santander in collaboration with Philips and the Oxentia Foundation, was to uncover companies that are helping transform ageing in the most innovative way.

Santander X Global Challenge | Reimagine Silver Age winners

Three startups and three scaleups have each won a share of 120,000 euros (30,000 euros per scaleup and 10,000 euros per startup) and access to Santander X 100 (the global community that brings together Santander X’s most successful companies) and Fintech Station (Banco Santander's open innovation programme). Moreover, they’ll also get help from Philips. 

Of the almost 500 companies from 11 countries that took part in the challenge, the six winners were:

  • Health Intelligence Solutions (Chile) - Home sleep diagnostic system with automated clinical intelligence and advanced oximetry to detect and treat sleep disorders.
  • Point Pressure (Spain) - Portable mechanical neuromodulation device that can be customized through an app to improve mobility after a stroke and reduce falls and dependency.
  • Ellyfe (UK) - A smart, wearable band that monitors senior citizens’ hydration levels and alerts their carers to avoid dehydration.

  • MySense (UK) - Connected sensors and behavioural analysis to detect early health risks and help maintain senior citizens’ independence.

  • CarePredict (US) - Smart, wearable band that analyses daily patterns using AI to anticipate falls or urinary tract infections and reduce unnecessary hospitalization.
  • Robopedics (Spain) - Ultra-lightweight robotic system that helps people with complications from strokes regain mobility and walk more independently.
  • Elevvo (Spain) - Home-based therapy using artificial intelligence with sound stimulation and neurofeedback to slow cognitive decline and enhance quality of life.

  • Altum Sequencing (Spain) - Liquid biopsy and artificial intelligence solutions to detect cancer relapse at an early stage.
