Santander Results Q1’26 | Santander adds eight million customers, with revenue up 4%, costs down 3% and underlying EPS increasing 17%
Banco Santander reported a record underlying profit of €3,560 million in the first quarter of 2026, up 12%, driven by the successful ongoing execution of ONE Transformation, including the continued deployment of shared global platforms that enable scalable growth and a lower cost-to-serve.
Banco Santander reported an attributable profit of €14,101 million in 2025, up 12% year-on-year (or +16% in constant euros), marking another record year, with total customers reaching 180 million for the first time after adding eight million customers in the year.
Santander reported an attributable profit of €10,337 million in the first nine months of 2025, up 11% from the same period last year – a record performance for the period. Its total customer base reached 178 million after adding more than seven million new customers over the past 12 months.
Santander delivered an attributable profit of €6,833 million in the first half of 2025, up 13% compared to the same period last year. This marks the strongest first half on record, driven by robust net interest income, record net fee income, and lower costs and provisions. Profit in the second quarter alone was €3,431 million (+7%), setting a fifth consecutive quarterly record.
Santander achieved a record attributable profit of €3,402 million in the first quarter of 2025, a 19% increase versus the same period last year thanks to record net fee income (+4%) and lower costs. In addition, the bank added nine million new customers with the total number of customers the group serves reaching 175 million customers.
