Javier Garcia-Carranza

Senior Executive Vice President of Banco Santander and Global Head of Wealth Management & Insurance

Javier Garcia-Carranza is currently Global Head of Wealth Management & Insurance and Global Head of Santander Private Banking and Insurance & Asset Management Solutions of Banco Santander S.A.

Prior to joining Santander in 2016, he worked during 17 years at Morgan Stanley based in London as Co-Head of EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Real Estate investment banking business. At Morgan Stanley he advised clients in M&A, and Equity and Debt financing transactions for more than $100 billion to European and Middle East clients.

Prior to this investment banking role he worked at Morgan Stanley on the principal investment business, having underwritten and executed a significant amount of investments for Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds and Morgan Stanley Special Situations Fund in Spain, Italy, Germany and UK.

Mr. Garcia-Carranza is, among other, Board Member of Zurich Santander Insurance America, S.L., Santander Insurance, S.L., Landcompany 2020, S.L. Unipersonal and Laparanza, S.A. (Chair as representative of Altamira Santander Real Estate, S.A.), and as Chairman and board member of SAM Investment Holdings, S.L.

Mr. Garcia-Carranza has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration by the University Carlos III of Madrid.
