Mexico City, 7 February 2022.
Banco Santander Mexico has been included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the second year running, thanks to the progress of its environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) practices.

“Our inclusion in this internationally renowned index, for the second year running, recognises the consistency and soundness of Santander’s work and our specific actions in favour of sustainability, which places us at the forefront and as a benchmark company in ESG, adding value, and having a real impact on the community,” commented Marcela Espinosa Macías, Executive Director of Public Relations, Internal Communications and Responsible Banking at Banco Santander Mexico.

More than 7,500 companies signed up to the 2022 yearbook, which is the most important of its kind worldwide. From these, the most important companies in the world were selected, ten of which are Mexican companies listed on the BMV, including Santander Mexico for the second year running, thanks to its sustainability score.

As a responsible bank, Santander Mexico takes into account the role of banking in promoting economic activities that are compatible with environmental conservation and social equity. Therefore, as part of its 2030 agenda, its internal operations and processes generate continued profitable progress in ESG matters.
