Santander Scholarships | Digital Business 2022 help recipients develop new skills in team management, implement innovation in the fintech sector and understand current digital marketing strategies.

The training is online and free of charge, and you do not need to be a customer of the bank to participate.

In partnership with the University of Chicago, Banco Santander is launching 1,000 Santander Scholarships | Digital Business 2022 to develop new skills in team management, implementing innovation in the fintech sector and understanding current digital marketing strategies. The program comes at a time when new digital businesses are driving the creation of an increasing number of job opportunities.

The 1,000 scholarships are offered in Spanish, English or Portuguese and are aimed at people over 18 years of age residing in 11 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, UK, USA, and Uruguay). They are free, online and you do not need to be a customer of the bank or have a degree or any specific training. You can apply for the Santander Scholarships until January 16, 2023.

Participants will be able to choose from three courses:

  • Digital Marketing, which will enable participants to understand emerging concepts in this area and provide resources, strategies and tools.
  • Fintech, which focuses on the main aspects of finech and how these are modeling the financial industry.
  • Building and Managing Resilient Teams, which focuses on professional growth using soft skills such as leadership, organisation, management and team development.

Norina Plank is a project lead at Mercedes Pay and took part in the previous scholarship program. "The program provided me with broad and in-depth knowledge on the financial sector and the digital tools that are shaping it. I also gained information on the regulatory side of things, allowing me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the industry".

Designed by the prestigious University of Chicago, the courses are flexible and require a weekly commitment of between five and eight hours. They include a mixture of independent learning and mentored activities and ongoing support.

According to Blanca Sagastume, global deputy head of Santander Universities, Open Innovation and Blockchain, "we must prepare for the great changes we're going to see in the workplace in the coming years. Through these scholarships, launched in partnership with the prestigious University of Chicago, we are supporting people who want to strengthen or redirect their careers, thereby improving their employability".
