Madrid, 18 January 2024.
For the eighth consecutive year, the Top Employers Institute has awarded Santander its Top Employer certification for its outstanding working conditions and contribution to the personal and professional development of its employees. Only four banks in the world, including Santander, have Top Employer Europe certification, which requires them to be certified in at least five European countries. Santander has received certification in Spain, Poland and Portugal and in Santander Consumer Finance’s units in Germany, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium. Santander Chile has also obtained Top Employer certification.

Santander España, which ranks among Spain's Top 5 certified companies, has been singled out for its policies on employee well-being, as well as for its culture and values, working conditions, and diversity and equity.

The Top Employers certification programme assesses organizations according to their results in the HR Best Practices Survey, which is based on six domains that cover 20 key HR themes, such as people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, well-being, diversity, equity and inclusion, and others.

Founded over 30 years ago, the Top Employers Institute is a global organization that recognizes the best places to work and excellence in people practices. Through the certification programme, participating companies can be recognized as benchmark employers. The Top Employers Global programme has certified 2,200 companies in 122 countries across five continents. Over nine million employees across the globe work in companies with Top Employer certification.
