The prestigious “Bank of the Year 2025” awards saw Banco Santander crowned the best bank in Europe, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Chile.

Santander also received the award for Best Transactional Bank in Latin America.

Santander has been named the ‘Best Bank in Europe’ by financial magazine The Banker, which praised the bank for its record financial performance, strong operational resilience and clear progress in its digital transformation across its major markets this year. The judges highlighted in particular the impact of Santander’s broad balanced geographic diversification, improved ratings, and growth strategy, strengthened by the acquisition of TSB in the UK and the Group’s strong performance in Spain, Portugal and Poland.

The Banker also awarded Santander the titles of Best Bank in Spain, Portugal, Poland and Chile in recognition of its financial performance, strategic initiatives, technological innovation, and the quality of service it provides to customers.

Santander also received the award for Best Transactional Bank in Latin America, which reaffirms its position as a benchmark in strategic innovation, execution of operations, competitive differentiation, and customer service in corporate and transactional banking.
