Bogotá, 6 July 2026.
Marcel Patiño Sedán will today become the new CEO of Banco Santander Colombia.
His appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Santander in Colombia, which will look to focus on driving profitable and sustainable growth and efficient use of capital and making headway with digital transformation as a customer-centric organization.
Patiño’s rise to CEO comes on the back of over 25 years in the financial sector and a wealth of experience in strategic roles within Grupo Santander. His stand-out positions include Head of Santander Corporate & Investment Banking in Colombia, Head of Investment Banking for Latin America and, most recently, Global Head of Private Debt Mobilization based in London.
This latest change comes as Santander seeks to continue growing its operations in Colombia, where it is the leader in corporate and investment banking, auto financing, microcredit (through Prospera), and business banking.
