Getnet will enable e-commerce businesses to accept, manage and move payments across Europe through a single integration.
Madrid (Spain), 6 October 2026.
Expanding across Europe just became simpler for merchants. Getnet, Santander's global merchant payments platform, now enables multinational merchants, marketplaces and e-commerce companies to access payment services in over 30 countries across Europe through a single integration. The expansion broadens Getnet's footprint beyond Latin America, Spain and Portugal and reinforces its role as a strategic payments partner for businesses operating across Europe.
As European commerce becomes increasingly cross-border, businesses face the challenge of navigating multiple payment methods, regulations and technical integrations. Getnet's European platform brings these capabilities together through a single infrastructure called Getnet Single Entry Point (SEP). SEP allows merchants to connect to multiple markets through one integration while accessing leading local payment methods, including Bizum in Spain and MB WAY in Portugal, where Getnet operates as a direct member, enabling a stronger value proposition for merchants.
The model is already proven at scale in Latin America, where Getnet processes billions of transactions across Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina.
In addition to payment acceptance, Getnet will enable merchants, platforms and payment service providers to collect funds, reconcile balances, convert currencies and make payouts through the same infrastructure. The solution initially supports 20 currencies and payouts to 140 countries.
Rubén Justel, CEO of Getnet Europe, said: "This expansion marks a new chapter for Getnet in Europe. Businesses can access multiple markets through a single integration, with transparent pricing and dedicated support. Our goal is simple: help companies grow internationally while improving payment performance."
Getnet is also building an open partner ecosystem with payment service providers, technology companies and software providers to help businesses scale more efficiently. Getnet is investing in new payment models, including instant payments, account-to-account payments and AI-powered commerce. The company recently completed Latin America's first agentic transaction using Mastercard Agent Pay technology.
Juan Franco, CEO of Getnet, said: "The future of commerce is increasingly connected, intelligent and international. Europe plays a key role in connecting businesses across regions, including Latin America, North America and Asia. By expanding our capabilities in Europe, we are creating new opportunities for merchants, platforms and partners to grow across borders."
