A long-term agreement will unite Santander with the world’s number one tennis player, who was previously linked to the Group through a partnership with Banesto. The partnership is founded on the shared values of effort, discipline, humility and respect.

Banco Santander today announced the signing of a long-term agreement with tennis player Rafa Nadal, who will become an ambassador for the Group.
Rafa Nadal, who is currently ranked as the ATP’s world number one tennis player, is considered the best Spanish athlete of all time and one of the best in the world. He has won 19 Grand Slam, five Davis Cups, two Olympic gold medals and the Prince of Asturias award.
Nadal, who was previously linked to the Group for several years through a partnership with Banesto, will represent the bank in various campaigns and events in Spain and other countries, as well as Santander Private Banking globally.
Ana Botín, Banco Santander Group Executive Chairman, said: “Nadal is coming home. He is one of the best athletes in the world and the best Spanish athlete in history, but he has also something that for me is the most important thing: he has got values that we share at Santander.”
Rafa Nadal said: “I’m very happy to come back to the Santander family and become its ambassador. It is very exciting to share again their winning spirit and the values of daily effort and willingness to fight for every point to achieve the goals we set. And, of course, to show that how we achieve our goals is as important as reaching them.”
