Borja Oyarzábal

Global Co-Head of Retail & Commercial Banking

Borja Oyarzábal joined Santander in 2025 as Global Head of Commercial, while also leading the Commercial business in Spain. He is currently Global Co-Head of Retail & Commercial Banking, as well as founder and CEO of Tresmares Capital.

Prior to joining Santander, he was a partner at Qualitas Equity, managing the Private Equity business unit. He also coordinated other business units focused on real estate funds and industrial investments. Earlier in his career, Borja worked in strategy consulting at Bain & Company and PwC.

Borja holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MSc from Virginia Tech University, a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Zaragoza and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Nottingham Trent University, where he received a first-prize award in engineering. Alongside his current roles, he teaches on several graduate and postgraduate programmes.
