Our sustainability strategy focuses on topics that are material to Santander, i.e. those that pose the biggest risks, create the best opportunity, and where we can have the biggest impact.
The strategy covers the Group’s three action lines — Think Value, Think Customer and Think Global — to drive business growth and become more resilient to increasing environmental, governance and social risks. Moreover, we embedded it in the strategies of the five global businesses, with metrics and targets that form part of our remuneration schemes.
Our target is to mobilize €220 billion in green finance by 2030
We aim to financially include 5 million more between 2023 and 2025*

Our activity helps people and businesses prosper and contributes to the economic, social and sustainable development of the communities we serve.
Banco Santander is concerned with the climate emergency. We continue working towards our ambition of net zero carbon emissions by 2050 by progressively setting specific actions to make headway with our three-pillar strategy.
Santander reports annually its performance in terms of culture and sustainability, informing of the main actions and commitments of the Bank in this areas and in relation to its main stakeholders (employees, customers, shareholders and society).
