Santander is introducing its Cartão Digital card now available on its app for contactless and QR code payments and MB Way transfers. Customers can use it to pay or send funds as soon as they sign up for a debit card, even while they wait for the physical card.
Banco Santander has been coming out with new simple, quick and safe digital payment solutions for for purchases made on any mobile device in the world. It recently partnered with Garmin and Fitbit to make contactless payment possible on smartwatches, wristbands and other devices.
Santander customers are among the few consumers able to make contactless payments on Android phones with the bank's app anywhere in the world. Mobile payments on iOS phones are possible with a domestic QR code solution on the bank's app; a solution for contactless payments anywhere in the world will be available soon.
