Santander strengthens its bond with Argentina's oldest university

  • The Bank is renewing its collaboration agreement with the National University of Córdoba, the second largest university in Argentina, with 100,000 students and 12,000 faculty members

August 23th, 2012. he agreement was signed by Enrique Cristofani, Santander's country head in Argentina, and Carolina Scotto, chancellor of the university. Among other initiatives, the Bank, through its Santander Universities global division, will fund international mobility grants for undergraduate students, as well as the activities organised to mark the university's 400th anniversary, taking place in 2012 and 2013.

Luis Miguel García Morales, head of Commercial Banking at Santander Argentina, attended the agreement signing ceremony, along with Marcelo Fernández, head of Santander Universities in Argentina. “The National University of Córdoba is a key point of reference in the university system. It is the oldest university in our country and one of the oldest in the region", said Fernández.

Banco Santander has 66 agreementes in place with academic institutions throughout Argentina to support academic and teaching projects which strengthen the bonds between universities and companies, among other things.
