Navigator Global helps businesses simplify decision-making, cut costs, and find verified support at every stage of their export journey.

London and Madrid, 4 November 2025.
Banco Santander has today launched a new international growth platform, Navigator Global. Navigator Global is an end-to-end digital first, human-led platform that helps ambitious businesses grow internationally. It connects users to verified providers, local experts and real-time insights, giving them the confidence to move faster and helps reduce the risks associated with global trade.

Built around the fundamentals of coaching, insights and connections, the platform provides a wealth of information and guidance for businesses, whether they are looking to export for the first time or expand into a new market. Santander has already offered a similar platform for UK customers between 2021 and 2025 which supported over 2,500 businesses on their journey to international growth. The platform has now been completely renewed and will be available in over 40 markets.

The platform is available in the UK, with the US launching later in the week. The platform will be rolled out to all Santander markets by the end of 2026. The platform will also be offered to countries where Santander does not have a banking presence. In these regions, a partner bank will be used.

Navigator Global tackles the three biggest barriers to international trade identified in Santander’s global research of SMEs1:

  • 62% of businesses say a lack of clarity around local regulation and compliance prevents them from entering new markets.
  • 58% cite the high cost of failure as their main deterrent to expanding internationally.
  • Over half (54%) say poor partner visibility and difficulty identifying verified local contacts are major obstacles to growth.

1. Santander and Navigator Global surveyed 1,250 businesses in Japan, Mexico, Spain, UK & US between October and December 2024, asking over 40 detailed questions on international trade readiness, pricing, and platform features.

By addressing these challenges head-on, Navigator Global helps businesses simplify decision-making, cut costs, and find verified support at every stage of their trade journey.

As well as banking partners, the platform will be working with commercial partners and a global network of over 250 verified providers. These connections are sourced to enable businesses to save time, money and help to reduce risk. Businesses will also be shown global services, such as financial solutions, at key points during their trade journey.

Key features of Navigator Global include:

  • Action Plans: Businesses select their desired market, and a tailored action plan is created. Self-directed modules get the user ready for exporting in that region. At each point, relevant prompts, and nudges will help guide the user journey.
  • Intelligence: A global network of in-market experts feed live intelligence and opportunities to businesses.
  • Events and Webinars: An extensive event and webinar schedule will educate businesses on key sectors and trade corridors.
  • Insights: Up-to-date news and editorial content will aid market-readiness and keep businesses well-informed.

I am delighted to be launching Navigator Global today. It has been created to make international growth simpler and faster for ambitious businesses. It brings together everything Santander has learned from years of supporting companies as they expand internationally. We know businesses don’t need just information; they need clarity and confidence about where to go next, who to trust and how to take the next step. That’s exactly what Navigator Global aims to deliver, turning ambition into action. At a time when uncertainty in the international trade space reigns, we are here to help.
