The Santander International Banking Conference 2018 has taken place at Ciudad Grupo Santander, our headquarters in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid, Spain).

The conference has focused on issues related to responsible banking, as we face the challenge of a new business environment with new, high expectations from customers, and a global need for inclusive and sustainable growth.

Featuring Santander’s Chairman Ana Botín, Spain’s Finance Minister Nadia Calviño and Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia -- among many other high-profile participants -- the conference has discussed the evolving digital landscape and the need for a global approach that fosters people’s trust.

Panelists have also examined the importance of incentives and recognition in reinforcing responsible behavior, as well as fair competition and challenges to responsible models in the new political environment.

Prospects for and risks to economic expansion, from the perspective of key investors and monetary authorities, have also featured prominently in the conference.
