If talent has no limits, neither should opportunity. To achieve a more diverse and inclusive future, Santander is joining Fundación Universia to help students with disabilities through educational scholarships.

Quality education is one of the world’s greatest challenges. It widens the social rift that halts the progress of millions. The fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) in the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda seeks to "Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all". As a responsible bank, Santander is committed to doing just that.

Among the various education initiatives we support, our commitment to Fundación Universia (promoted by Santander Universities) catches the eye. According to Sonia Viñas, director of Fundación Universia: "Inclusion and quality go hand in hand. An inclusive approach will contribute considerably to the quality of education. Ensuring inclusive and quality education means access, continuity and progress at all levels of education and in life”. These scholarships will once again help participants boost their job prospects.

3rd "LaLiga Genuine Santander Scholarships": With inclusive education, everyone wins the match

At Santander, we believe football can help make society more diverse and inclusive. Since 2018, we’ve been working with Fundación Universia and Fundación LaLiga to promote the "LaLiga Genuine Santander Scholarships" that support the academic training of athletes with intellectual disabilities who play in this pioneering competition.

Now in its third year, new scholarships are available for players who are enrolled in or wish to study university degrees, language courses, preparation for public service entrance exams, as well as apprenticeships and courses with official qualifications.

21 scholarships of up to 1,000 euros will be awarded to members of the clubs participating in LaLiga Genuine Santander.
