Through its Santander Universities, Banco Santander has collaborated with universities for 20 years on a unique global initiative which distinguishes it from other national and international banks and financial institutions.
The bank tops the 'Global Fortune 500' list as the company that invests the most in Corporate Social Responsibility in connection with education, according to the first global study published by the Varkey Foundation in collaboration with UNESCO.In 2015, the bank invested 160 million euros.

Banco Santander is developing initiatives related to the promotion of a culture of enterprise and innovation, university digitalisation, internationalisation and employability.
Promotion of a culture of enterprise and university innovation will be pivotal to collaboration with universities. University digitalisation will drive the modernisation of universities, promoting the incorporation of new technologies into the teaching process, virtual campuses and the creation of digital academic services.
Internationalisation will include international mobility scholarships, exchange programmes and transversal cooperation projects between institutions from various countries. And employability will support employment market access initiatives for university students with scholarship programmes for internships and training schemes.
