Two new partners in the UK

  • Santander Universities Global Division has recently signed two new agreements in the UK: Aston University (in Birmingham) and Trinity College, Oxford.

16 de mayo de 2012. At the Birmingham university, the agreement was signed by Professor Julia King, Vice-Chancellor of Aston University and Luis Juste, Director Santander Universities UK.

Under the partnership Aston University will join a group of over 1,020 universities in Asia, America and Europe that have the support of Santander.

With an agreement focusing on international mobility of both undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as researchers, support for entrepreneurs to develop their ideas, international student exchange, and a contribution to assist with the ‘Language for all’ programme, Santander Universities aims to increase the contacts between Aston and Latin-American universities.

Professor Julia King said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Santander. The international scholarships they will be providing will allow recruitment in new areas and help bring further diversity to our already multicultural/multinational campus which welcomes students from over 120 countries. We remain a University which has a reputation for producing the most employable graduates, and with Santander sponsoring ten Aston students on placement years abroad as well as supporting our University-wide language programme, our strong reputation will undoubtedly be enhanced.”

Luis Juste, Director Santander Universities UK said: “We are delighted to welcome Aston to the big Santander Universities family. Thanks to this agreement students and academics will benefit from what it is the most important network of its kind in the world. Today, Aston and Latin-America are just a little bit closer and I am certain that this agreement will allow Aston to establish strong and lasting contacts with other universities that have already partnered with Santander.”

Santander has also signed an agreement with Trinity College in Oxford. The college President Sir Ivor Roberts signed an agreement that will support a Santander Spanish Fellowship at the College.

This is the fourth signing with an Oxford College after Exeter, St. Anthony’s, Pembroke and Lady Margaret Hall.
