All large corporations have seen the advantages of working with agile methodology and each one at its own pace is immersed in this transformation. Betting on a simplified work methodology, having an innovative digital offer for its customers and agility in decision making are the key points for Banco Santander.

Working in an agile way means being guided by four basic principles:

  • Customer Centricity: placing the customer at the center of our activity. Knowing our customers, what they like, what they need, responding quickly and gaining their trust are the keys to meeting the challenges of our transformation.
  • Value Oriented: prioritizing our client's needs and focusing on those that can provide differential value. All this while maximizing the return on our investment in terms of effort, time, costs and risk reduction.
  • Empowered Teams: This principle consists of supporting people's autonomy so that they can develop all their creativity, contribute their experience and thus achieve greater commitment and motivation.
  • Fast Reaction: quickly identify opportunities, make decisions quickly and without fear of making mistakes, and keep our minds open to new ideas.

"The larger the company, the more complicated its agile transformation is”, stresses Szymon Mercik, head of Agile and Software Engineering at Banco Santander. "At Santander this is a global commitment, we are transforming the entire Group"

That is why Santander is sponsoring the Agile Trends Festival, whose new edition will be held from September 13 to 15. More than 20 Santander professionals will tell the progress of the transformation in the different geographies in which the bank is present. The conference will feature 160 presentations.

The event, online and free of charge, is a unique opportunity to learn how the transformation is evolving from the best experts in this methodology.

One of the most interesting points of this Agile Festival is the participation of Human Resources and people management professionals. Alexandra Brandao, global head of Human Resources of the company and top 2 of the 50 Best HR Directors in Spain, according to Forbes, will give her vision: "In HR, not only do we need to quickly understand what Agile means in order to guide wider organizational transformation, but also begin to apply the mindset ourselves to revolutionize our own ways of working."

If you are interested in connecting to any of the sessions, which will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from September 13 to 15, you can register for free at the festival's website: agiletrends.online.
