Santander UK launches the competition Big Ideas (Disponible solo en inglés)

United Kingdom, 1st December 2015.- Santander UK has recently launched the competition ´Big Ideas´. The initiative is a collaboration between the Universities and T&O teams and has been created to help identify ways to overcome some of the key technological issues the financial industry is currently facing.

Through Big Ideas, Santander aims to help students identify and develop solutions, with participants retaining ownership of both their ideas and prototypes.

Santander is posing 3 challenges to participants:

The future of semantic search
The future of digital authentication
The future of virtual banking

Entrants will have to provide solutions to these challenges ensuring that they fit within a certain criteria. Santander have up to £20,000 to give away to students and graduates as part of the Big Ideas Challenge.

Finalists will also be given the opportunity to develop ideas with engagement from Santander’s Innovation team as well as present their idea to Santander’s senior and executive teams.

The competition aims to entice entrepreneurial students into developing their own ideas as new research recently commissioned by Santander shows that over a quarter (27 per cent) of students - equivalent to 375,700 in total - have started or plan to start a business venture whilst they are still at university.
