Santander Private Banking has been recognised as the Best Private Bank in the world for cybersecurity by Professional Wealth Management (PWM), a Financial Times publication. The jury of the Wealth Tech awards, which highlight the role of technology in private banking, also ranked Santander Private Banking as the best private bank in Europe for digital portfolio management.

Among the main achievements in this area, the awards took into account the bank's capacity for innovation in cybersecurity, as well as internal and external communication and awareness campaigns through which it encourages simple habits that make everyday life safer and help protect customers from fraud on the internet. They also rated the improved prevention of phishing and smishing through training initiatives that are available to all users, such as CyberHeroes, and strategic alliances to promote investment and innovation in cybersecurity.

In Europe, Santander Private Banking was named the Best Private Bank for digital portfolio management based on the management capacity provided by advanced automation that provides customers with a personalised offer, as well as pioneering and innovative products. In a changing market environment, a dedicated portfolio management service, with a higher level of customisation to satisfy individual customers' preferences, is a value-added feature for optimal decision-making, enabling customers to seize investment opportunities that arise.

Santander Private Banking offers its customers a tailor-made service through specialised private bankers in Spain, Portugal, Poland, Switzerland, the UK, the USA, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay. In March 2023, it had €274 billion in client assets & liabilities worldwide, 8% more than in March 2022. In addition, the number of customers at the private banking threshold increased by 4%.

More than 50 private banks from around the world, the most advanced in the industry according to PWM's database of more than 300 institutions, participated in the sixth Wealth Tech Awards. The awards recognise the important role of technology in private banking, based on qualitative and quantitative information. Institutions provide information on key achievements, changes and improvements in relation to how technology is transforming their business model, as well as its contribution to growth.
