At Santander UK we aim to be the place all our people feel they belong and are supported to succeed. This support includes how we look after those colleagues who identify as having a disability, from recruitment, all the way through to retirement or moving onto the next stage in their career. We actively recruit people with disabilities and ensure that adjustments are made at each stage of the process to ensure they are fully supported. Our culture promotes respectful curiosity and encourages our people to build deeper connections with those around them.

Disability support at Santander UK is led by our Enable! Network who are one of our 8 thriving employee resource groups, their job (along with their Executive Sponsor) is to continue developing a culture of support around disability. This includes operating a community site for members of the network to connect and discuss, creating regular communications around a range of different topics, and hosting events with industry experts to educate colleagues on different challenges in the disability space. Their Co-Chairs and leadership team also helps us to drive change in decision making and processes to further improve the support we have in place for disabled colleagues.

The Enable! Network provide support and guidance for all Santander employees on the topic of disability. We work hard to build awareness, knowledge and understanding throughout the organisation by providing information and supporting staff to feel comfortable in having important conversations. Santander is committed to being at the forefront of supporting the needs of all people striving for an environment where everyone can fulfil their own personal potential. This is being done by cultivating a culture in which everyone can feel comfortable bringing their whole self to work celebrating difference and the richness of diversity that this brings.
