Ramiro Mato García-Ansorena

Nationality: Spanish. Born in 1952 in Madrid, Spain.

Education: Degree in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid and Management Development Programme of the Harvard Business School.

Experience: He has held several positions in Banque BNP Paribas, including chairman of the Group in Spain. Previously, he held several signifcant positions in Argentaria. He has been a member of the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) and of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, S.A. (BME) and member of the board of trustees of the Fundación Española de Banca para Estudios Financieros (FEBEF).

Other positions of note: He is chairman of Ansorena, S.A. and vicechairman of the board of trustees Fundación Esperanza y Alegría. 

Membership of board committees: Executive committee, audit committee, risk supervision, regulation and compliance committee and responsible banking, sustainability and culture committee (chairman).
