Banco Santander has maintained for many years a fluid and constant dialogue with its stakeholders, enabling it to respond at any moment to those issues identified as relevant, in accordance with the bank’s strategy and the demands and expectations of each stakeholder.

Santander fosters and supports programmes that contributes to cultural, social, and educative development of local communities.
 
The main focus of banco Santander’s sustainability strategy is investment in higher education. Santander Universities is a unique programme in the world articulated through co-operation agreements with more than 1,200 universities, enabling projects on internationalisation, innovation, investigation and transfer of knowledge to be put into effect. Furthermore, the bank carries out local development projects in the countries where it operates, tailored to the economic and social circumstances of each community.
 
In addition, the Bank has also assumed the protection, preservation and recovery of the environment and the fight against climate change.
