  • Santander Private Banking has been named ‘Best Private Bank’ in Portugal for the fifth consecutive year, and in Chile, for the fourth.
  • This award recognises the quality of an advisory model based on an unrivalled offer and personalised service.

Madrid, February 19, 2016. Banco Santander has been named ‘Best Private Bank’ in Portugal and Chile by the international financial magazine, Euromoney, in its 2016 Private Banking Survey. Santander has been selected as the best entity, by local peers, for the fifth consecutive year in Portugal, and for the fourth in Chile.

Ángel Rivera, Senior Executive Vice-President and head of the Retail & Commercial Banking Division at Banco Santander, stated: “these awards are a recognition of the Santander private banking's specialised advisory model. This model is a reflection of the Group's strengths and skills, where the private banker is the link between the bank and the customer, supported by our commercial networks and multidisciplinary specialists, as well as technological tools to help the customer make investment decisions. It is an outstanding value proposition, which offers a personalised service that allows us to build a long-term relationship with customers, based on trust”.

Since the launch of the Santander Private Banking brand, dedicated to high income customers, it has been recognised as ‘Best Private Bank’ by Euromoney on 17 occasions. This is in addition to the awards extended by The Banker (‘Best Private Bank’ in Latin America and Portugal) and Global Finance (in Spain, Mexico and Portugal).

It has a network of 101 specialised branches and over 2,000 employees.
